Before You Buy: Is Wayfair Furniture Good Quality? - Part I of II

The short and quick answer is YES! I have been purchasing furniture and homewares from Wayfair since 2019 and I’m still going back for more. Now has each item become a favorite of mine? No. But in today’s post I am going to review my Wayfair purchases and show you how I made each piece my own in order to fit my personal aesthetic. I hope you enjoy my honest opinions as well as a peek into what I’ve done in my home so far!

1.The Bleeker Armchair by Mercury Row in the shade Marble:

These arm chairs were my first purchases from Wayfair in early 2019. Purchased two months apart, I knew that these would perfectly complement my sectional. I liked how the lighter grey tone of the Bleeker Armchairs when paired with the darker grey of my Haverty’s sectional added dimension to the space.

On the Wayfair site, the arm chair was photographed with darker brown legs but it was noted in the description that it also came with an extra pair of light wood toned legs. However, when I purchased the second Bleeker Armchair, the darker pair of legs were not included. I contacted Wayfair and they quickly scheduled a replacement be sent to me. I waited for a few weeks to no avail.

I called Wayfair for a second time only to be told that this particular arm chair was being discontinued (but don’t worry as I have linked similar arm chairs below) and that they wouldn’t be able to send me the second pair of chair legs. For the inconvenience, they refunded me the ENTIRE cost of the chair. From the start, Wayfair’s customer service has been exceptional.

These glass coffee mugs were purchased in May 2020, about three months into the start of the pandemic. Due to the overwhelming stress of lockdown, figuring out how to teach from home while parenting a two-year-old l, I was drinking a lot of chamomile and green tea to get me through the busyness of each day.

At the time I was using a set of white ceramic mugs that matched my also white and square-ish dinner plates but wanted something a bit more aesthetically pleasing. A quick search on Wayfair and I found the Bistro mugs and added them to my online cart.

A year and half later, I still love these mugs and have not experienced any chipping or cracking despite excessive use and runs in the dishwasher. Unfortunately, this particular set is currently out of stock but I highly recommend signing up for restock notification. I’ve purchased several of my Wayfair items from restock alerts. But if you’re in need of coffee mugs now, I’ve linked a few that are of a similar vibe.

I first wrote about the Janelle End Table by Willa Arlo Interiors back in February 2021 when I realized it was a dupe for a more expensive West Elm piece.

Y’all I absolutely love this Wayfair end table. The quality is top notch. I styled it with thrifted fashion books, a meditating Buddha statue and a Wayfair lamp I will be discussing two items down this list. Assembly was a breeze as I put it together myself.

I am also excited to say that at the time of writing this post, this side table is still in stock at Wayfair and you should purchase it NOW if you’re interested. I also included a few others just in case.

Being that my living/dining room is a rectangular shape, I knew that shelving was a must for adding dimension to the space.

Knowing the limits of my technical skills, I hired Task Rabbit to both assemble and mount my Wayfair bookcase on the wall. The puzzle-like look of this bookcase was perfect to house the many Lego projects that my 4-year-old created and my my obsession with color coded books. A few family photos, a sunglasses mannequin and some Ivy leaves garland added the right amount of quirkiness to the bookshelf.

I highly recommend the Hurwitz Wall Shelf by Zipcode Design as I have zero complaints.

For my living room end table, I knew I needed a lamp that wouldn’t be too distracting from the gallery wall behind it. Because Wayfair’s website is customer centered, imagine my excitement when it was suggested that my Janelle End Table would pair well with the Dillon Table Lamp.

Wayfair…say less.

I thought it was beautiful online but it’s even more breathtaking in person. Another 5 star Wayfair product for the win!
