Black Owned Wish List - Vol. 1

After a divorce, having a baby, purchasing my first home, and getting a new car, ya girl is back! Financially that is. I’ve always been one to mind my pennies, but in these last four years I have gotten this budgeting thing down to a science. What once began as a simple Excel spreadsheet has now evolved into this beautiful Google Sheet (yes, this is my Etsy shop).

I said all this to say I can once again practice the art of self care in the manner of buying myself gifts here and there. I’ve been wanting to purchase for quite some time now from more Black owned businesses and one of the upsides of the pandemic and the injustices of the world was the brief (because they are quiet as hell now) parading of Black owned businesses.

The trend may have passed for the some, but not for me. I plan to create lists such as this whenever I feel like making it rain but want to be more strategic and mindful about my spending. Now if you see something that peaks your interest, don’t let me stop you! Treat yo self!

Epi. Logic’s The Total Package Fortifying Facial Moisturizer - $90

The only reason I didn’t purchase this before my “No Buy” period is because it was out of stock. The ingredients sound absolutely yummy and beneficial for the skin. I’ve chosen another moisturizer from another Black Owned Business (look out for a review by the end of the month) but I hope to pick this one up on my next go round.

Iccon’s Logo Socks - $18

I’ve followed the social media influencer @Cris_Cavallari for quite sometime for her style. When I saw that she added these socks to her online store, I was immediately sold. I love seeing the fashion girls wear the monogrammed Guuci socks but I like the most subtle look of these by Iccon.

Honey Fatale’s Monroe Cuban Tennis Necklace - $60

I found this brand on Tik Tok. Yes, I know. Tik Tok. I finally joined. Blame it on the pandemic. Her pieces are so beautiful and dainty. This necklace is perfect for layering or wearing it on its own.

Honey Fatale’s Monroe Tennis Bracelet - $40

Well, of course I need the matching bracelet…duh! But it’s the mash up of the stones and links so unique?! I love it!

Honey Fatale’s Queen of Heart Necklace - $50

I used to want a sleeve tattoo of a Black Queen of Hearts. Well, the sleeve has yet to occur and the concept has transitioned in flowers lol! So this necklace is the next best thing for me.

Honey Fatale’s Cross Chain - $42

My favorite necklace is a V-neck and they just happened to be perfect for showcasing layered necklace. This cross is both meaningful yet danity.

Honey Fatale’s Giovanni Cur Link Choker - $40

Yet another simple piece to layer with longer necklaces or to wear on its own.
